One of the first things I learned when I started to play around with fine art portrait editing is that I

wanted anyone to look at me that closely. The first part of this process is retouching. (think of it as preparing the canvas)

Retouching calls for some mega zoom. Zooming in so far that every pore and hair and blemish and wrinkle (and yes boogers too) looks HUGE!!!!!

Now that I have been doing this style of editing for a while, I know that this is true for everyone. So, when you view one of these quick edits – I will be making more of them – do it with the understanding that people’s minor flaws are magnified. Things you don’t usually notice will jump out at you.

Truth is, we all have fine hairs on our faces, or that one extra long stray eyebrow hair that got missed. And YES WE ALL GET BOOGERS.
